Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Party —— The original music "Who Are You" was successfully held in Beijing.

  On April 23rd, China Workers’ Audio-visual Education Center, China Workers’ Audio-visual Publishing House, China Education Television, China Western Research and Development Promotion Association, China Television Artists Association Industry Television Committee and Beijing Musicians Association held a press conference on the original music "Who are you" in the studio of China Workers’ Audio-visual Education Center to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Party.

  "Who are you?" was written by Guo Xiaoshi, director of China Workers’ Audio-visual Education Center and president of China Workers’ Audio-visual Publishing House, and composed by Liu Xi, a member of China Musicians Association and former artistic director of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions Cultural and Art Troupe. At the press conference, they respectively expounded their creative feelings about their works. The year 2021 is the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and it is also the first year of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and the new process of building a socialist modern country in an all-round way. To eulogize the Party’s great pioneering work of leading the people in a great struggle, advancing a great cause and realizing a great dream, vividly praise the Party’s century-old glory and jointly launch this original musical work. The song "Who are you?" adopts the way of asking questions clearly and truthfully, asking questions directly with the title of the song, and deeply answering with the lyrics, deeply connecting the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s century-long history, the grand blueprint for building a modern and powerful country and the people’s sense of gain, praising the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s century-old faith and the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s great achievements in leading the people.

  After listening to Who Are You, Zhao Jinbo, Secretary-General of the Beijing Musicians Association, said that this piece of music contains the history of the Party in the song, and is dedicated by more than 100 singers, such as the famous singer, professor of China Conservatory of Music, and Yi Ding, the chief tenor of Sydney National Opera House, Australia, which shows the responsibility of every musician.

  Zhang Hongguang, a national first-class composer and president of China Film and Music Research Institute of Beijing Film Academy, Fu Limin, a professor at China Conservatory of Music, and Ma Congfeng, vice chairman of Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles, believe that Who Are You is an excellent red music work and an artistic masterpiece to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Party. I hope that the work will be widely circulated and sung in the society, so that more workers will resonate and be inspired in the music.

  Wu Bin, Deputy Secretary-General of Electronic Music Society of China Music Association, Luo Xinmin, Professor of Composition Department of Central Conservatory of Music, and Li Nan, a famous program producer and director, commented that the structure of the song is rigorous and clear, and the melody is inspiring, especially the first section of the song, "The face is shining with a sickle and hammer, and it is more beautiful than colorful", which depicts the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s initial mission and great achievements.

  Cheng Lu, former vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and chairman of the China Association for the Promotion of Western Research and Development, said that at the key node of the historical intersection of the "two centennial" goals, the trade unions and the music industry had a lofty vision, felt a heavy responsibility on their shoulders, sang praises to the motherland and the Communist Party of China (CPC) with songs, expressed their infinite affection and love for the party, expressed the people’s heartfelt support and firm support for the party, and painted a magnificent picture of the Chinese nation in the past century.
