Inheriting Red Genes and Consolidating Ideals and Beliefs

　　习近平总书记高度重视理想信念问题，在十八届中共中央政治局第一次集体学习时指出，没有理想信念，理想信念不坚定，精神上就会“缺钙”，就会得“软骨病”。崇高的理想、坚定的信念，是革命军人的灵魂和安身立命之本，是战胜困难、抵御诱惑的决定性因素。人民军队历经90多年的红色基因，正是发轫于理想信念的火种。我们传承红色基因，就要打牢思想根基、坚定理想信念，以坚定的理想信念切实担当起强军的历史责任，为实现中华民族伟大复兴的中国梦提供坚强力量保证。

　　行源于心，力源于志。人民军队从建军之日起，就是一支信念坚定、意志顽强的铁军。正是因为有着坚定的理想信念，朱德、贺龙、刘伯承、叶剑英等老帅们义无反顾地舍弃个人荣华富贵，哪怕是饥寒交迫、吃糠咽菜，哪怕是枪林弹雨、出生入死，也无怨无悔。“风雨浸衣骨更硬，野菜充饥志越坚；官兵一致同甘苦，革命理想高于天”，在风雨如磐的长征路上，崇高的理想，坚定的信念，激励和指引着红军一路向前。他们始终深信“只要跟党走，跟着抗日救国的理想走，就会有前途”，“不论我们自己能否到达胜利的彼岸，我们的旗帜一定能到达”。

　　For more than 90 years, from the birth of blood to the mainstay of foreign aggression; From the south to the north to build a meritorious service, to defend the country and cast the Great Wall; From the new chapter of reform and development spectrum to strengthening the army and rejuvenating it, the beacon of lofty ideals and beliefs guides the people’s army all the way forward. At present, the people’s army under the absolute leadership of the Party is striding forward to achieve the Party’s goal of strengthening the army in the new era and building a world-class army in an all-round way. In this process, we still have a long way to go and countless "snow mountains" and "grasslands" to cross. Therefore, we must build a stronger spiritual highland and maintain a strong belief force.

　　At present, China is in an era of great development and change. The situation at home and abroad has undergone profound changes, and the struggle in the ideological field is sharp and complicated. For their political purposes and strategic interests, hostile forces at home and abroad have tried their best to infiltrate and counter our army, vigorously advocating erroneous political views such as "non-partisan, non-politicized" and "nationalized" in an attempt to change the nature of our army. They deliberately took advantage of all kinds of contradictions in the process of reform and development, tried their best to demonize and demonize party organizations and governments at all levels, and vilify the socialist system in China. Under the profound social changes and highly open environment, some negative and decadent phenomena, such as chasing money and fame, coveting pleasure and playing with things, have also brought shocks to the ideals and beliefs of officers and men. In the face of the contest between casting souls and eating souls, and the tug-of-war between fixing roots and destroying roots, we must let officers and men inherit the red gene and firmly establish the communist ideals and beliefs.

　　理想信念的生成，是理论的力量、情感的力量以及实践的力量综合作用的结果。理想信念的坚定，来自思想理论的坚定。习近平强军思想，明确了新时代国防和军队建设一系列根本性方向性全局性重大问题，是习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想的“军事篇”，为实现党在新时代的强军目标、把人民军队全面建成世界一流军队提供了科学指南和行动纲领。我们必须紧紧围绕强国强军伟大征程，深化思想认识，把握真谛要义，明确实践要求，以高度的政治担当、历史担当，把学习贯彻习近平强军思想不断引向深入，牢固确立习近平强军思想在国防和军队建设中的指导地位。

　　广大官兵坚定理想信念的确立并不是一劳永逸的，必须不断锤炼。强军兴军呼唤只争朝夕、真抓实干的行动者。只会纸上谈兵而不知行合一，热衷虚谈废务而不求真务实，追求形式主义而不脚踏实地，与坚定理想信念的要求是格格不入的。我们要针对战争形态和作战样式的深刻变化，深入研究部队信息化建设和作战、军事斗争准备的特点规律，努力掌握现代战争的制胜机理，从难从严从实战需要出发进行训练，不断提高信息化条件下威慑和实战能力。

　　遇到矛盾问题最能检验一个人的理想信念是否坚定。理想信念坚定，就能遇到矛盾不怕事，碰到问题不回避，敢于担当，敢于跳进矛盾漩涡中去解决问题。当前，军队建设内外环境发生深刻变化，军事斗争准备任务十分繁重。我们必须知难而进、逢山开路、遇河架桥，积极寻找克服困难的具体对策。

　　深化国防和军队改革，必然要经受利益调整甚至局部利益受损的“阵痛”。当改革改到自己头上时，能否拿出“壮士断腕”的勇气和魄力，是检验我们理想信念是否坚定的试金石。每个官兵特别是领导干部都要有“计利当计天下利”的追求，要有“国家利益至上”的使命担当，坚决克服本位主义和部门利益羁绊，不当看客，不添障碍，不成阻力，以主人翁责任感投身改革，以埋头实干推进改革，书写出彩的军旅人生。
